About the role
- Source, evaluate, and manage global apparel factories and raw material suppliers
- Travel internationally to build and manage supplier relationships and implement sourcing strategies
- Lead supplier negotiations on cost, terms, capacity, lead times, and manufacturing standards
- Ensure calendar alignment and on-time delivery
- Partner closely with Product, Tech Design, and Supply Chain to align raw material sourcing with seasonal line plans
- Build strong working relationships with domestic and international factories to ensure calendar alignment and on-time delivery
- Collaborate on demand forecasting to optimize inventory levels, turns, and in-stock performance
- Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, SLAs, and regular reviews
- Develop and execute contingency plans for supply disruptions
- Collaborate with Quality and Compliance teams to ensure materials meet durability, safety, and sustainability standards
- Support material compliance testing, certifications, and sustainability reporting
- Maintain weekly WIP tracking to monitor production progress
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to sourcing strategy development
Requirements
- 7+ years of procurement/sourcing experience in apparel or consumer goods
- 2+ years in a leadership or managerial position
- Strong knowledge of global apparel raw material markets
- Proven experience working closely with offshore factories and mills, ideally in a start-up or growth-stage brand
- Highly skilled in Excel and data-driven analysis
- Excellent negotiator and relationship builder
- Comfortable in high-growth, fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel internationally to build and manage supplier relationships
