About the role
- Reviewing, editing, and proofreading technical documents for accuracy, clarity, and readability.
- Working with authors or technical experts to to produce high quality deliverables; clarifying ambiguous points and suggesting improvements for readability and comprehension.
- Verifying and checking for consistency in data, terminology, and the use of symbols and units of measure.
- Ensuring the use of proper technical terminology and maintaining a consistent style and tone in line with the targeted audience.
- Collaborating with the technical team to understand product details and requirements.
- Ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with our style guide.
- Formatting documents by using company standard templates and styles.
- Maintaining a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Proofreading and revising documents to ensure they are error-free.
- Adhering to and improving documentation standards and guidelines and updating BC style guide per latest trends and best practices.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Editor, Technical Writer, or similar related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand text.
- Strong time and task management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Collaborative, team-oriented.
- Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, proactive mentality, and ability to follow directions.
- Ability to be resourceful in researching issues, solving problems, learning new tools/systems, and offering creative solutions.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) knowledge of Bluebeam and/or Adobe and proficiency with internet applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or demonstrated equivalent.
