About the role
- Establish an effective category management strategy for Global IT category, tailored specifically to BR needs and culture.
- Implement and promote a strategic and proactive approach to the way Broadridge sources, and manage third party spend, with a great emphasis on vendor relationship value and IT category strategy and moving away from traditional IT vendor and contract negotiation.
- Build and manage a best-in-class GLOBAL IT Category Management Team, address enterprise-wide spend in this category and its subcategories, and execute related special projects.
- Effectively build strong working relationships with a broad range of internal clients to proactively support and promote Broadridge business objectives and specifically with Broadridge CIO and CTOs.
- Effectively build strong working relationships with BR top strategic IT suppliers.
- Act as a change management catalyst to influence and challenge status quo and drive decisions based on market trends and effective IT service/ vendor strategies, with a great emphasis on Total Cost of Ownership.
- Individually lead key, high-visibility, strategic sourcing projects using established sourcing processes and project management tools.
- Collaborate with other Strategic Sourcing Group functions to successfully implement and effective vendor management programs and better monitor and manage Third Party Risks.
- Build partnerships at the top level of the Corporate IT organization and with key business units, to successfully develop IT strategies for key service providers and embed a formal, fact-based Strategic Sourcing and Category Management processes.
- Develop Strategic Sourcing strategies and goals to be aligned with overall Source-to-Pay and company objectives.
- Serve as trusted advisor to the Corporate IT organization; Be highly persuasive and capable of building consensus, despite potential disagreements or complexity.
- Recommend alternatives to continuously gain stakeholder buy-in and endorsement.
- Build strong relationships with the leaders of all Strategic Sourcing organization divisions.
- Demonstrate strong facilitation, leadership, and interpersonal abilities when working with varying staff levels.
- Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise, project management skills, and knowledge of industry best practices, and provide information and insight to internal customers and other business stakeholders.
- Directly own and manage sourcing projects/initiatives across all strategic sourcing phases (pre-Sourcing, Sourcing, and post Sourcing), using varying PM tools.
- Develop and maintain high quality deliverables (e.g. RFx, Cost Analysis, Evaluation Tools, Presentations, Negotiation Guides and Contractual Documents).
- Monitor and direct day-to-day execution of projects owned by his/her team members.
- Assist in developing, designing, sharing, and establishing Category Management and Strategic Sourcing best practices.
- Support internal teams in resolving interdependency and policy compliance issues.
- Work closely with management to identify performance/project issues and continuously implement initiatives to upgrade technical, business and interpersonal skills.
- Keep management informed of all work in progress and any concerns/challenges as these come up.
- Monitor performance against pre-established department objectives and individually established goals.
- Develop and oversee all team reporting and project tracking activities.
- Support the Broadridge Supplier Diversity program and promote the inclusion of diverse suppliers in all sourcing initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between Business Units, appropriate internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Risk Management, Security, AP, etc.), and third-party suppliers, to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Requirements
- 10-15+ years of Leadership experience in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management as part of best-in-class sourcing organizations with strong customer centric approach
- A Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred
- Experience sourcing and developing strategies for IT spend categories, including Software and Hardware, Network, Telecom, Managed Services, IT Support, and Cybersecurity at the global level
- Experience building and executing against category strategies is a must
- Significant experience with and exposure to Procure-to-Pay process
- Leadership experience with ability to assume a project lead role and drive project strategies, supplier negotiations and implementation of Procurement programs for a wide variety of products and services
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including market research, data and information analysis, RFP assessment and evaluation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes
- Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize responsibilities appropriately, and complete work in a timely manner
- Previous consulting experience is preferred
- Motivated self-starter with a proven track record of delivering value through effective application of collaborative and customer centric strategies.
