About the role

  • Protect the integrity of the scheme by managing fraud risks
  • Ensure a robust Financial Crime framework
  • Oversee AML and KYC checks
  • Investigate suspicious loan applications
  • Provide expert guidance to internal teams and partners
  • Monitor fraud defences across partner network
  • Act as scheme overseer
  • Review operational data and automated alerts to identify risks
  • Investigate cases of suspected fraud
  • Implement measures to mitigate losses
  • Assess applications, investigate documents, and ensure compliance with internal policies, public sector standards, and scheme obligations

Requirements

  • Experience as a fraud investigator within Retail Financial Services
  • Knowledge of fraud detection systems
  • Familiarity with CIFAS or similar industry prevention bodies
  • Excellent understanding of fraud detection, prevention, KYC, and AML procedures
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to make clear, informed decisions
  • Understanding of end-to-end customer journeys in financial services
  • Operational process knowledge
  • Experience in SQL preferred but not essential
