About the role
- Own portions of month-end closing process and associated reconciliations
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Act as a liaison between the Finance team and Sales, Operations and Inventory regarding accounting processes and procedures
- Analyze financial statements and other corporate reporting to identify business trends and opportunities for improvement to management
- Field finance & accounting inquiries from the CFO, Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Leadership and company managers
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and financial audits, including preparation of PBCs
Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting preferred (CPA required)
- 3+ years’ experience in corporate accounting, including significant experience in the monthly close process
- 1-2 years’ public accounting experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm
- In-depth understanding of GAAP and experience in applying principles in practice
- Experience in closing a general ledger and/or audit, account reconciliation, JE preparation and support
- Experience in driving process improvements in month end close
- Intermediate experience with ERP systems, NetSuite a plus
- Experience working with external auditors
- Experience developing and improving internal controls
- Retail or e-commerce experience/exposure preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
