About the role
- Lead the design and implementation of AI and ML models tailored to cyber operations challenges such as anomaly detection, threat classification, and predictive analytics
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and MLOps workflows using modern tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
- Integrate AI capabilities into existing cyber defense platforms and DevSecOps pipelines
- Collaborate with data and cyber engineers to curate, preprocess, and analyze large datasets for model training and validation
- Conduct research and experimentation to evaluate emerging AI techniques relevant to cyber security and operational needs
- Optimize AI models for performance, accuracy, and operational efficiency in cloud and containerized environments
- Provide SME guidance on AI best practices, explainability, and ethical AI considerations within mission contexts
- Support automation of threat detection, incident response, and cyber situational awareness through AI-driven tools
- Document AI workflows, models, and system integration points to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or related fields
- Strong background in machine learning algorithms, neural networks, natural language processing (NLP), and anomaly detection
- Proficiency with Python and AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, scikit-learn, or similar
- Experience with data engineering tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and challenges, preferably within DoD or intelligence community environments
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and ability to integrate AI models into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Active secret clearance is required
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related technical discipline (advanced degrees preferred)
