About the role
- Handle a variety of civil litigation matters including wrongful death, contract and business disputes, premises liability, and personal injury claims.
- Manage cases from inception to resolution, including legal strategy, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and managing discovery.
- Argue motions in court, attend mediations, take and defend depositions, and participate in trial when necessary.
- Interface directly with clients, opposing counsel, and collaborate closely with experienced partners and team members.
- Provide hands-on litigation casework and opportunities for professional growth within a mid-sized law firm.
Requirements
- 1 - 7+ years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm environment. (Newly licensed attorneys in Arizona are welcome to apply!).
- Proficient in performing legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, propounding and responding to discovery, as well as interfacing directly with clients and opposing counsel.
- Experience taking and defending depositions, making court appearances, arguing motions, and attending mediations, is preferred. Trial experience is a plus!
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills along with a client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes.
- Desire and/or ability to manage a caseload independently, while also working collaboratively with team members.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Current admission to the Arizona State Bar is required.
