About the role

  • Define and evolve Breakaway Media’s creative universe, including visual language, tone, and storytelling systems.
  • Ensure a cohesive, premium standard across digital, social, experiential, and branded content.
  • Develop scalable content franchises rooted in youth culture, music, and creators.
  • Translate festival access and artist relationships into compelling, repeatable formats.
  • Partner with Talent to design artist experiences that feel thoughtful, premium, and creatively aligned.
  • Direct key shoots and oversee post-production across studio and festival environments.
  • Set the quality bar, guide editors and designers, and approve final creative across platforms.
  • Partner with Sales to concept culturally relevant brand integrations and develop creative treatments that elevate partner storytelling.
  • Build and lead a nimble creative team.
  • Establish workflows, review cadence, and scalable production systems from launch through growth.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years in creative leadership (media, digital studio, agency, brand, or culture publication)
  • Experience working directly with artists, creators, or talent teams
  • Deep understanding of Gen-Z / Millennial culture
  • Strong editorial taste and visual instincts
  • Comfortable directing shoots and guiding on-camera storytelling
  • Able to balance premium brand expectations with fast-moving production cycles
  • Relationship-oriented, calm, and confident in talent-facing environments
  • Bonus: Music or festival industry experience
  • Bonus: Experience launching new media brands (0→1)
  • Bonus: Strong instincts for social-native storytelling
