About the role

  • Strategic business development: Drive annual business planning (ABP), define growth and profit targets, and align them with cluster/operating unit (OU) strategies
  • Revenue & forecast management: Prepare 12-month forecasts, analyze trends, and identify growth levers
  • Performance management: Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs), monitor KPIs, and derive actions to achieve targets
  • Commercial responsibility: Manage offers and pricing, support tender processes, and develop customer-facing projects
  • Distribution & channel management: Develop sub-channels, uncover potential, and ensure brand standards
  • Operational excellence: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, maintain product and price lists, and manage end-of-life (EOL) processes
  • Governance & compliance: Ensure compliance with all BP/Castrol standards regarding competition, ethics, HSSE, and anti-corruption
  • Relationship management: Build strong partnerships and support distributor sales teams through coaching and knowledge exchange

Requirements

  • Degree in business administration or equivalent qualification with relevant additional training
  • Extensive experience in a sales role, preferably in the automotive industry and ideally in lubricants
  • Experience in commercial operations for marketing and distributor networks desirable
  • Several years' experience implementing market and business strategies, primarily in the automotive industry
  • Strong sales orientation and assertiveness
  • Resilience under ambiguity and time pressure
  • High level of personal responsibility and ownership mindset
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication
  • Problem-solving orientation and excellent analytical and conceptual skills
  • Fluent business English
