About the role

  • Lead a team of contract personnel to deliver innovative technology solutions for bpx’s development team
  • Partner with development execution teams to define technology strategy, roadmap, and delivery plan
  • Develop, deploy, provide ongoing support, and integrate third-party and custom solutions
  • Drive innovation and change strategy for bpx drilling, completions, and facilities
  • Develop and implement technology solutions to optimize drilling and completions designs and field execution
  • Continuously improve, optimize, and automate drilling and completions processes
  • Estimate and track the realized value of associated technology solutions
  • Coordinate projects and resource management within the squad and supervise project execution
  • Communicate and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders and product owners
  • Manage budgets and ensure financial management of the squad
  • Monitor and resolve project dependencies and conflicts and manage vendor teams across time zones

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in shale production and/or IT
  • Experience working with large, cross-functional technology teams and effectively influencing business stakeholders and field personnel
  • Capability in driving entrepreneurial IT initiatives in office and field environments
  • Capability of hands-on work to prototype initial tool concepts
  • Capable of training and rolling out products to field personnel across multiple assets
  • Strong financial acumen, including familiarity with industry trends and innovation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in using scaled agile methodologies to deliver products
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies
  • Manage vendor teams across multiple time zones and locations
  • Demonstrates humility, self-starting and results-focused, team-oriented mentality
  • Familiarity with skills: Agility core practices, API and platform design, Benefits Management, Business Analysis, Cloud Platforms, Configuration management and release, Data Analysis, Data design, Data Management, Demand Management, Design Thinking, Digital Product Management, Facilitation, Influencing, Managing change, Measurement and metrics
  • Travel up to 25% (Denver, Houston, & Field locations as needed)
