Administer, operate, and develop emergency management programs across the Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS).
Lead interdisciplinary teams to execute integrated emergency management planning, training, and exercises.
Author operational-level emergency response plans and tactical procedures for enterprise resilience; maintain Hazard Vulnerability Analyses (HVA), Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), and Annexes.
Ensure regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CARF, CMS, MEMA, COBTH, FEMA, DHS, and other agencies.
Coordinate and oversee procurement, maintenance, and deployment of emergency management equipment.
Assist in management of grant-funded programs including financial planning, compliance reporting, and proposal development.
Serve as a key emergency management leader during incidents, disasters, and activations; represent BMC at city, state, and federal emergency management meetings and regulatory audits.
Supervise, mentor, and manage emergency management staff, graduate interns, and residents; conduct staff training, after-action reports, and incident action reports.
Manage data collection, documentation, and reporting related to emergency preparedness initiatives; manage Alertmedia and Send Word Now platforms.
Facilitate weekly staff meetings and BMCHS Emergency Management Committee meetings; coordinate collaborative meetings among various facilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
3-5 years of relevant experience in emergency management, public health, hospital administration, or emergency services, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
On-site availability to effectively coordinate with interdepartmental teams, implement training, and manage emergency management response activities.
Ability to conduct emergency preparedness training and lead real-time crisis response efforts.
Experience in grant management, financial planning, compliance reporting, and proposal development.
Strong leadership and team coordination abilities; excellent oral and written communication skills.
Expertise in emergency planning, regulatory compliance, and hospital operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based reporting systems, and emergency management technologies.
Knowledge of multi-agency coordination, disaster response frameworks, and hospital emergency preparedness protocols.
Must complete a background check (E-Verify employer) and BMC requires staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, and receive a COVID-19 booster dose.
