Business Development Rep

• Boston Government Services, LLC. (BGS) is seeking a Technical Business Development Specialist to support our client Sandia National Lab remotely. On any given day, you may be called on to: Implement stakeholder and partnership engagement strategies (DoD, NNSA and others). Develop and execute critical initiatives for national security programs and technologies. Develop and translate technology speak into the “So What” for technology applications. Discover and analyze market factors and national security requirements and trends. Lead technology transfer initiatives to deploy national security systems. Other duties as assigned.

Technical Business Development Specialist

Security Analyst

• Resetting user passwords for cause (e.g., when they have been identified as being suspected compromised or 'known compromised')
• Working with service owners to reset service account passwords for various reasons
• Ensuring authorizers are designated for in-scope accounts
• Analyzing usage patterns for accounts to identify inactive accounts or inappropriate account use
• Reviewing approval requests for various new access or accounts
• Triaging unusual access requests or phishing reports
• Evaluate EDR installation and coverage and identify systems without EDR for remediation
• Monitoring external attack surface for unapproved systems, undocumented systems, and newly disclosed vulnerabilities
• Reviewing systems with existing public access to ensure requirements are followed (e.g., event logging, multifactor authentication)
• Attend online/Teams meetings; provide status, suggest improvements, discuss implementation
• Analyze data and perform initial planning to address identified issues
• Assist with creation of playbooks and execute playbooks with minimal assistance
• Conduct proactive threat hunts and lead investigations end-to-end as an advanced responsibility

Cyber Security Analyst

Engineer

• Integrate new data sources, which may include databases, APIs, files, etc.; Validating and creating appropriate configurations for CIM compliant logs; Processing requests from cybersecurity analysts for new detections within Splunk Enterprise Security; Analyzing existing logs to identify poorly formatted logs and potential gaps when implementing new detections; Adding and maintaining threat feeds within Splunk Enterprise Security; Monitoring the performance of and tuning detections; Managing asset and identity inventory within Splunk Enterprise Security; Creating and maintaining new Splunk apps; Recommending additions or changes to Splunk or its data models to meet detection needs; Developing searches, reports, and other functionalities for cyber-based use-cases, including active response, intrusion detection, vulnerability management, and related use cases; Assisting users with creating and optimizing searches and dashboards and mentoring others in good development of said resources; Attend online/Teams meetings with team and others as appropriate; Work with team to provide status on current task, suggest improvements, discuss implementation; Expectation/Deliverables: Capture business requirements and implement the requirements; Analyze data and perform initial planning to address identified issues; Assist with the creation of playbooks to address identified issues from analysts; Seek to understand the intention of detections and corresponding playbooks; Provide basic feedback on existing playbooks and detections; Identify telemetry quality and visibility issues (SIEM parsing/normalization, EDR/XDR sensor health, asset/identity tagging); Improved candidate: Provide advanced recommendations to address gaps in logging and detections; Create detailed and thorough testing plans; Produce clear metrics and reports (FP rate, backlog) for technical and executive audiences; Excellent candidate: Create advanced use cases for detections and map detections to MITRE; Drive continuous improvements to existing processes or tooling; Perform quality reviews and improve detections and actions; Coach, guide, teach others on the team in use of Enterprise Security

Splunk Detection Engineer

• Possess a working level expertise with the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and the NIST 800-53 series of control families and approaches. Using automated tools and manual techniques to Client security weaknesses (i.e. Tenable Security Center, Nucleus Security, etc...). Conducting regular scans and assessments of systems, applications, and networks to identify potential vulnerabilities. Analyzing the identified vulnerabilities to determine their potential impact on the organization. Prioritizing vulnerabilities based on their severity and the risk they pose to the organization. Performing routine assignment of tickets to IT and other teams to address vulnerabilities as part of a 'cyber hygiene' process. Recommending mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities. Working with IT and development teams to apply patches, configure systems securely, and implement other remediation measures. This position is not expected to perform patching activities. Creating detailed reports on the findings of vulnerability assessments and risk analyses. Documenting the status of vulnerabilities and the actions taken to mitigate them. Communicating the results of vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and other cyber hygiene work to stakeholders, including management and technical teams. Staying up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices. Continuously improving the organization's vulnerability management processes and tools. Vulnerability Analyst

• Senior Vice President of Business Development (SVPBD) develops and leads the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes that will drive Orders, Books-to-Bill Ratio, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives.
• The SVPBD will report to the CEO and drive the formation and execution of the Business Development organization, including the bid and proposal process and other aspects of business development necessary to facilitate the growth and diversification of BGS.
• Identify and evaluate new markets, partners, channels, and customers; research and analyze the business environment, competitors, and customers to develop ideas for new products and services, pricing, and business models.
• Direct financial feasibility studies, development of proposals, and negotiations for new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans.
• Manage business unit, division, or corporate function with significant organizational impact; establish overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given primary function or line of business.
• Day-to-day management of the Enterprise Business Development function and support personnel; personnel management, hiring, and leadership of the organization to prioritize and achieve the business's growth objectives.
• Develop and manage the BD pipeline; periodically review the pipeline with executive leadership to ensure capture plans are in progress for long lead items, form strategic alliances, and take other actions to ensure success.
• Provide support for capture planning and lead the proposal efforts for the company.
• Work closely with the CSO to continue refining and implementing a sound acquisition and development plan for the Company, including specific development strategies designed to achieve short—and long-term growth and profit objectives.
• Drive deal sourcing, due diligence processes, negotiation, and execution of strategic transactions, as well as integration and post-deal management of acquisition activities.
• Actively manage a pipeline of potential acquisition opportunities and coordinate and drive accurate financial analysis of acquisition targets and purchase price valuation.
• Develop trusted relationships, foster and maintain a strong network, and support the CSO with the financial performance of acquisition targets to prepare financial documents, models, metrics reports, and synergies assessments.
• Develop business cases for various opportunities, including deal-specific financial analysis (accounting for strategic, financial, legal, and tax implications).
• Provide analysis of trends and valuations for the market; research and prepare interest profiles.
• Work collaboratively with all departments to execute strategic goals and establish highly effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
