Subcontracts Manager – I-II

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As a Subcontract Manager oversee external vendor agreements from cradle to grave.
- You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, mitigating risk, and ensuring subcontractors meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- You will work with Project Managers to ensure Scope, Schedule and Budget are understood and captured in subcontracts, purchase orders, or other agreements.
- You will also work with Contracts Mangers to ensure that appropriate terms, conditions, and prime contract requirements are included in the subcontracts, purchase orders, or other agreements.
- Develop requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluate bids, and negotiate pricing and contracts (Fixed-Price, Time & Materials, Cost-Plus) or agreements (Blanket Purchase Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with prime contract flow-down requirements, government regulations (such as FAR/DFAR), and internal legal policies.
- Manage changes, whether scope, schedule, or budget related ensuring that sufficient data (cost or schedule) is being tracked and captured to support prime contract recovery.
- Track subcontractor deliverables, manage schedules, and resolve performance discrepancies or disputes.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, as necessary, manage change orders, and work with Project Managers to control project budgets using Enterprise Resource Planning software, at BGS it is Unanet.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (project managers, engineering, accounting) and external subcontractors and suppliers.
- Execute final subcontract modifications, handle documentation, and finalize agreement closeout including Releases of Claims and final payments.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred; Some college business classes required, if not a business related degree.
- Minimum 5 yrs experience; specialized experience in contracts/subcontracts negotiations, contracts/subcontracts change management, and drafting of REAs, claims, and other complex contractual/subcontractual instruments will be considered favorably.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Successful drug screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
