About the role

  • As Loan & Pathway Manager, you will play a key role at the interface between the Academy (NLZ) and the licensing/professional department, acting as the central point of contact for loaned players and top talents (TT) with operational responsibility.
  • Loan management: analyze and identify suitable loan clubs for individual development pathways
  • Support for loaned players and regular visits to loan clubs
  • Central contact for loan clubs and support in coordinating top talents (training, match and development plans)
  • Preparation, management and negotiation of loan deals together with the sporting management
  • Preparation of structured performance reports and transparent communication to the sporting leadership
  • Monitoring & reporting: produce regular status reports, potential analyses and development forecasts
  • Use of data-driven tools for objective assessment of player development and loan destinations in coordination with the Head of Data Scouting and Sports IT
  • Network & relationship management: build and maintain a resilient network with national and international clubs, agents and partners
  • Point of contact for transition players and their environment
  • Represent the club in exchanges with sporting decision-makers, cooperation partners and associations
  • Loan & development planning: advise the sporting leadership on appropriate loan options
  • Close coordination with TT coaches and the TT coordinator, medical department, athletic performance, education and scouting

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in professional football as a player or coach (at least in the performance-oriented youth sector/Academy) and/or in scouting with a focus on potential assessment
  • Demonstrably structured and forward-looking way of working
  • Experience in supporting and developing top talents
  • Access to and ability to relate to adolescents and young adults with empathy and authority
  • Strong communication skills as well as high team orientation, loyalty and integrity
  • High degree of responsibility and organizational ability
  • Confident, assured appearance with a high level of assertiveness and persuasiveness
  • High resilience, flexibility and willingness to travel (situational >50%)
  • Linguistic flexibility (German, English, preferably a third language)
