About the role
- Provide communications and media support to the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO)
- Develop and execute communication strategies on complex technical topics
- Produce and manage graphic content for communication products
- Review invoices, track expenditures, and provide budget status updates to HOC leadership
- Support regulatory interactions by preparing materials, tracking activities, and facilitating communications
- Develop communication materials such as briefing books, infographics, flowcharts, brochures, and digital slideshows
- Maintain content for electronic office displays
- Manage office bulletin boards to ensure content is current and aligned with Hanford communications priorities
- Produce materials for stakeholder engagement
- Compile, draft, and format required reports for DOE Headquarters
- Design and deliver high-quality presentations, handouts, and media products for the Hanford site manager and senior leadership
- Create, monitor, and manage purchase requisitions in coordination with procurement
- Write, format, and distribute newsletters and routine informational updates
- Plan, prepare, and support meetings by creating agendas, presentations, and related materials
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in communications, graphics support, or related field
- Experience writing and designing for external non-technical audiences on highly technical topics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and graphics/desktop publishing software
- Demonstrated proficiency with budget tracking, invoice review, and requisition creation
- Strong understanding of media strategies and tools
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters
- Working knowledge of DOE program management practices and policies is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of the Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
