About the role

  • Provide communications and media support to the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO)
  • Develop and execute communication strategies on complex technical topics
  • Produce and manage graphic content for communication products
  • Review invoices, track expenditures, and provide budget status updates to HOC leadership
  • Support regulatory interactions by preparing materials, tracking activities, and facilitating communications
  • Develop communication materials such as briefing books, infographics, flowcharts, brochures, and digital slideshows
  • Maintain content for electronic office displays
  • Manage office bulletin boards to ensure content is current and aligned with Hanford communications priorities
  • Produce materials for stakeholder engagement
  • Compile, draft, and format required reports for DOE Headquarters
  • Design and deliver high-quality presentations, handouts, and media products for the Hanford site manager and senior leadership
  • Create, monitor, and manage purchase requisitions in coordination with procurement
  • Write, format, and distribute newsletters and routine informational updates
  • Plan, prepare, and support meetings by creating agendas, presentations, and related materials

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in communications, graphics support, or related field
  • Experience writing and designing for external non-technical audiences on highly technical topics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and graphics/desktop publishing software
  • Demonstrated proficiency with budget tracking, invoice review, and requisition creation
  • Strong understanding of media strategies and tools
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters
  • Working knowledge of DOE program management practices and policies is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
