About the role

  • Develop and execute the enterprise metals strategy that aligns with Boeing’s business priorities, product programs, and long-term material roadmaps.
  • Lead research and development and readiness level (RL) maturation of metallic material systems, partnering with the business units, CTO organizations, and external partners.
  • Influence enterprise-level decisions through technical assessments, risk analyses, trade studies, and cost/benefit evaluations.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of metallurgists, materials engineers, subject matter experts, and technical leads responsible for metals development, qualification, testing, and lifecycle management.
  • Support metals qualification and certification activities to meet FAA/DoD and international regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading teams in the areas of metallics development and materials integration in aerospace or defense.
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing technology roadmaps
  • Deep knowledge of metallic systems, including processing (e.g., forging, casting, AM), performance behavior, and qualification)
  • Experience with program management excellence principles, including Earned Value Management (EVM)
