Create, change or revise airplane maintenance publications using authoring systems and automated research tools
Locate source data from applicable files and systems and perform analysis from pre-set-up packages or original source data
Perform production roles, follow desktop procedures, publications standards and government/customer specifications for authoring
Program document multiple SGML outputs by applying applicability rules when required
Determine proper effectiveness and applicability for each authoring job; verify information and check for discrepancies and make changes as required
Mark up illustrations and submit using established procedures; perform thorough self-check of authored material
Meet production and quality standards, assigned schedules and deadlines
Use effective communication to work through problems and ensure timely delivery of authoring tasks
Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and develop maintenance, repair & retrofit procedures and techniques
Utilize engineering data knowledge, maintenance operational knowledge and pertinent regulations to guarantee product reliability, safety and efficiency
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Diploma or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) required
Understanding of engineering job practices, techniques and standards
Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maximize productivity
Ability to define and document processes
Ability to identify potential issues, analyze and recommend improvements and alternate solutions
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proven reasoning, analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering
Typical: Bachelor’s or equivalent with 5–8 years experience or Master’s degree with 4–7+ years in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics
