About the role

  • Perform detailed NASA manned space requirement compliance assessments against M&P parts requirements for Boeing-delivered hardware
  • Support M&P requirement definition, control, and verification through all stages of hardware development, testing, and sustainment
  • Work with designers and other technical disciplines for engineering drawing release, production facility support, subcontractor/supplier interface, requirements verification, and preparation of contract deliverables
  • Review routine product engineering designs for compliance to NASA M&P requirements and provide recommendations or technical acceptance rationale
  • Collect information to support definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in manufacturing and engineering design
  • Incorporate changes to specifications and other documents to manage deployment of materials, parts and processes
  • Assist with performing tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
  • Assist with activities to qualify suppliers and support subcontractor deliverable verification
  • Support waiver initiations to completion for non-compliances to M&P requirements and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in routine sustaining engineering evaluations

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years experience working on engineering development programs
  • Ability to meet export control compliance (U.S. Person per 22 C.F.R. §120.15)
  • Ability to obtain access to a NASA facility
  • Experience or coursework in material science, materials, metallurgy, mechanical or aerospace engineering (preferred)
  • Experience with M&P requirements implementation and verification on a Space Program (preferred)
  • Experience on a NASA developmental program (preferred)
  • Experience with material processing and manufacturing techniques (preferred)
  • Experience with material testing and material properties development (preferred)
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering documents, specifications, and drawings (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Relocation at candidate's expense (must live in immediate area or relocate at own expense)
