About the role
- Lead and perform the identification, analysis, and documentation of requirements for network LAN technologies and services (e.g., wireless, data, voice, video, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints, to lead the design process
- Work collaboratively with other stakeholders (Transport, Transport, Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN), Structured Cabling, Project Manager, etc.) in focused, agile-inspired sprint teams
- Create and document designs that conform to architectural and security standards to meet customer requirements, using design templates and standard implementation packages
- Prepare, deploy, and coordinate installation of complex implementation packages per Boeing standards
- Provide Level 3 Incident/Problem Management support in preventative, proactive and reactive maintenance to meet service restoration and network availability objectives, using network analysis and monitoring tools
- Support and participate in component research to provide input for more comprehensive evaluation
- Lead and perform implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects, using established project management methodologies for the purpose of controlling costs and ensuring adherence to project plan
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco wireless technologies
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations
- 5+ years of experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols
- 5+ years of experience in developing presentations, integrating technical & non-technical content
- 5+ years of experience with written and verbal communication and presentations
- Ability to support after-hours change windows and implementations
- Willing to cover on-call shifts, including weekends and after hours
