About the role

  • Contribute to executing the strategy for BNY's defined contribution retirement plans through day-to-day plan administration
  • Own and support the administration of BNY's Qualified and Non-Qualified Retirement Plans
  • Assist in monitoring plan performance, participant engagement, and investment fund options; help implement improvements as directed
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and HR teams to help align retirement plan activities with overall compensation and benefits programs
  • Prepare data and reports on plan performance, compliance, and risk management for review by senior leadership
  • Help ensure proper governance and oversight of retirement assets as part of the fiduciary committee support
  • Review contracts and agreements to confirm service quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance under guidance
  • Analyze plan data to generate metrics and reports that highlight trends and support program decisions
  • Assist in reviewing annual valuation packages, tax forms, notifications, disclosures, and legal documents
  • Coordinate with vendor partners to maintain efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for internal and external team members on plan administration matters
  • Maintain strong governance by ensuring adherence to Plan, IRS, and ERISA rules in daily processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in retirement benefits administration, plan compliance, and fiduciary oversight
  • Knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, and PBGC regulations related to retirement plans
  • Experience with Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, and Defined Contribution plans administration
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret actuarial valuations, financial data, and compliance reports
  • Experience in non-discrimination testing, plan funding requirements, and IRS/DOL filings
  • Proficiency in HRIS, benefits administration platforms, and financial reporting tools
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing and executing effective plan communications to enhance participant understanding and drive engagement
