Serve as Commercial Counsel reporting to the Chief Legal Officer; second dedicated legal hire.
Oversee BMG Money’s commercial contracting function and manage high volume of partnership, vendor, master service, and licensing agreements.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and handle a range of operational documents within the contract management system.
Advise on brand collaborations, channel expansion, and growth into new products and markets.
Manage complex vendor and partnership agreements; enhance contract playbooks and lifecycle processes.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing proactive legal support and translating complex legal concepts into practical guidance.
Proactively identify and address legal risks associated with company growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, compliance, finance, engineering, marketing, production, and supply chain to align legal priorities with business objectives.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
5-7+ years of legal experience, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or another financial services field.
In-house experience, especially in growth companies, is a plus.
Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice across a wide range of matters.
Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills, with experience in handling complex commercial agreements.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with executives and cross-functional teams.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
