About the role

  • Accountable for the entire lifecycle of assigned projects in the company's project portfolio
  • Manage inter-project dependencies and constraints
  • Manage multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver complex systems
  • Adhere to established methodologies for project management
  • Manage all project activities throughout the project lifecycle from initiation through to closure
  • Create contingency plans to mitigate risk
  • Adhere to a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001
  • Support the Applications Engineering team as required in the development of proposals including estimations, costing, and quoting
  • Maintain strong and positive client relationships before, during, and after project delivery
  • Support creation of Project Charters as part of project initiation

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • P.Eng designation and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent) considered an asset
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing technical project delivery in engineering and production environments
  • Demonstrated experience in defence and/or Water and Wastewater industries
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary project teams across engineering, production, planning, quality, and procurement
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), scheduling and schedule analysis, cost estimating and cost control, budget development, reporting, and record/document control
  • Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Secret (NATO) security clearance
  • Must be compliant with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Proven experience in managing, including professional development, of direct reports considered an asset
  • Ability to set and manage priorities of work and negotiate for project success as part of a collaborative team effort
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. MS Office suite of tools, Word, Excel, and project scheduling tools
  • Bilingualism in English and French would be an asset
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
