About the role

  • Design/develop custom hardware enclosure solutions for electronic systems used in autonomous vehicles.
  • Utilize off-the-shelf components to create efficient and cost-effective hardware designs.
  • Identify and select suitable vendors for sourcing components and materials.
  • Oversee and supervise vendor activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of components.
  • Ensure hardware designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform testing and validation of hardware solutions to ensure durability and performance in rugged environments.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement improvements to enhance hardware reliability.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and technical drawings.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in hardware materials and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. (Advanced degrees preferred)5-10 years’ experience.
  • Proven experience in hardware design for electronic systems, preferably in the GNSS, robotics, or autonomous vehicle industries.
  • Strong knowledge of off-the-shelf components and materials used in electronic hardware.
  • Experience in vendor selection, negotiation, and supervision.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing hardware solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for electronic hardware.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
