About the role

  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for DOE opportunities aligned with Blue Origin's capabilities and growth objectives
  • Own executive relationships and stakeholder mapping across priority DOE entities (Headquarters, Program Offices, National Laboratories, FFRDCs, and strategic partners)
  • Lead complex deal pursuits from identification through award, including structuring and negotiating multi-year agreements (CRADAs, SPPs, OTAs, IDIQs, and other federal instruments)
  • Build compelling value propositions connecting Blue Origin technologies to DOE mission priorities in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, nuclear security, and scientific research
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships to enhance competitive positioning and program execution
  • Coordinate cross-functional capture teams (technical, engineering, program management, pricing, contracts, legal) to develop winning solutions and proposals
  • Drive disciplined pipeline generation, qualification, forecasting, and leadership reporting; establish operating cadence and KPIs
  • Support preparation of executive briefing materials and customer-facing narratives for senior DOE leadership audiences
  • Ensure pursuits and engagements adhere to federal acquisition regulations, compliance requirements, and company policies

Requirements

  • 10+ years of federal business development/sales experience
  • 5+ years leading DOE-focused pursuits
  • Demonstrated success winning DOE contracts, grants, or partnership agreements worth $50M+
  • Proven understanding of DOE organizational structure, budget processes, acquisition methods, and decision frameworks
  • Established network of relationships across DOE Program Offices and National Laboratory system
  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and multi-office procurement decisions
  • Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into mission-relevant solutions and outcomes
  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams through capture planning, proposal development, and contract negotiation
  • Experience with federal contracting vehicles including FAR/DFAR-based contracts, CRADAs, SPPs, and OTAs
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or technical graduate degree preferred
