About the role
- You will support the day-to-day coordination of activity linked to the Summer Event, working closely with internal teams, partners, suppliers and volunteers to ensure effective planning and delivery.
- This will include supporting logistics, administration, communications activity and stakeholder engagement to ensure the event runs smoothly and achieves its intended impact.
- Alongside event delivery, you will contribute to wider community project activity where required, including liaising with pet food bank partners, coordinating volunteers, and supporting reporting and record keeping.
- You will regularly communicate with volunteers and colleagues by phone and in person, ensuring clear and consistent coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- This is a home-based role with regular travel as required. You will be attached to a nominated Blue Cross site, which will act as your contractual base for the role. Travel to your nominated base site is considered normal commuting. Occasional travel to partner organisations or other Blue Cross locations will also be required.
- Due to the fixed nature of the project timeline, the successful candidate will need to commence employment on Monday 23 February 2026.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
- Demonstrable experience of using excellent communication skills to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
- Proven ability to prioritise and organise work and projects
- Proven administration skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- IT literate with MS Office and web based databases and platforms
- The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply Blue Cross values
- Experience in a similar role (Desirable)
- Experience supervising or managing volunteers (Desirable)
- Previous experience working in the charity sector (Desirable)
