About the role
- Assists, advises, or consults with the Actuarial Services team and management.
- Pulls, studies and analyzes health insurance data.
- Maintains and enhances assigned systems and models.
- Applies fundamentals of forecasting and financial analysis.
- Makes recommendations to stakeholders for informed business decisions.
- Demonstrates understanding of intermediate actuarial concepts and the health insurance industry.
- Partners with other applicable areas to understand connections and impacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, or Actuarial Science or related field.
- Successful completion of at least (1) exam.
- Ability to understand programming basics and develop spreadsheet models, databases and statistical models.
- Ability to identify trends and patterns in data sets.
- Ability to understand complex ideas and technical data.
- Ability to successfully collaborate.
- Ability to identify and make recommendations to management.
- Ability to recognize opportunity for improvements, new ideas or innovative approaches.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Related internship and/or (1) year of experience in actuarial analysis.
- (2) years of experience in actuarial analysis for Analyst II.
- (4) years of experience in actuarial analysis for Analyst III.
- Successful completion of at least (2) exams for Analyst II.
- Demonstration of achievement and progress towards ASA preferred.
