About the role

  • Assists, advises, or consults with the Actuarial Services team and management.
  • Pulls, studies and analyzes health insurance data.
  • Maintains and enhances assigned systems and models.
  • Applies fundamentals of forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Makes recommendations to stakeholders for informed business decisions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of intermediate actuarial concepts and the health insurance industry.
  • Partners with other applicable areas to understand connections and impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, or Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Successful completion of at least (1) exam.
  • Ability to understand programming basics and develop spreadsheet models, databases and statistical models.
  • Ability to identify trends and patterns in data sets.
  • Ability to understand complex ideas and technical data.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate.
  • Ability to identify and make recommendations to management.
  • Ability to recognize opportunity for improvements, new ideas or innovative approaches.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Related internship and/or (1) year of experience in actuarial analysis.
  • (2) years of experience in actuarial analysis for Analyst II.
  • (4) years of experience in actuarial analysis for Analyst III.
  • Successful completion of at least (2) exams for Analyst II.
  • Demonstration of achievement and progress towards ASA preferred.
