About the role
- Own the development and execution of financial strategy and business planning, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and providing guidance to the CEO and leadership team to support key decisions.
- Collaborate and support with target setting in partnership with CEO & COO.
- Analyze new revenue opportunities & channels (e.g., retail expansion, international markets, collaborations, wholesale channels), owning cost, margin and ROI analyses.
- Evaluate capital expenditures, ROI scenarios, and pricing strategies to optimize unit economics and profitability.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of long-term strategic financial planning model, in partnership with the Strategy team.
- Leading the team to drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Serving as a key stakeholder in Financial & Business Planning workflows, providing feedback and insight into management of timelines and planning processes.
- Develop plans forward for revenue growth and optimization.
- Create procedures, controls, and systems to collect and provide the necessary financial data in accordance with company standard.
- Engage in and take lead in M&A – related initiatives, managing the acquisition and integration processes.
- Overseeing and shaping all aspects of budgeting, forecasting and quarterly guidance processes, including review and directing of all activities for all channels.
- Managing overall budget process, inclusive of approach and target setting.
- Leading all corporate and management reporting of monthly and quarterly results, analyzing key movements vs forecast and last year through all components of the P&L.
- Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for the Executive team; prepare and communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage budgeting and the implementation of budgets, monitor progress and present operational metrics.
- Develop annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range plans in partnership with department leads.
- Build dynamic financial models to support strategic initiatives, product launches, and seasonal planning.
- Track and report on KPIs across departments—especially revenue, gross margin, CAC, LTV, inventory turnover, and contribution margin.
- Own the rollout and maintenance of a sales and reporting dashboard to support with business wide reporting and tracking.
- Directing the development, management and communication of the corporate financial calendar, ensuring seamless collaboration across multiple teams to meet deadlines and key deliverables.
- Oversee all facets of tax planning and management ensuring compliance on all global tax filings.
- Manage liquidity, working capital, and short-term financing needs to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Forecast and optimize cash flow around seasonality, production cycles, and marketing campaigns.
- Develop treasury strategies to manage reserves, credit lines, and capital structure.
- Develop long-term capital plans to ensure business continuity during periods of rapid growth or market shifts.
- Maintain rigorous internal controls, processes, and documentation across all financial functions.
- Lead preparation for audits, manage relationships with tax and legal advisors, and oversee all compliance filings.
- Mitigate financial and operational risks through appropriate insurance, legal contracts, and vendor due diligence.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Function as the company representative in managing the relationships with external banks, financial institutions, and other parties.
- Lead the IT department, ensuring technology strategy, system and security align with business and financial objectives. Oversee IT budget, investment decisions, and risk management.
- Partner closely with heads of Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Operations, and People to align business strategy with financial goals.
- Help shape merchandising plans through a financial lens: product mix, pricing, markdown strategy, and margin targets.
- Collaborate with Ops & Supply Chain on inventory planning, demand forecasting, and COGS optimization.
- Oversee core financial operations by ensuring timely and accurate management of all accounting processes completed by direct reports or externally sourced accounting agencies.
- Drive financial systems and operational scalability as the team, product line, and distribution channels expand.
- Implement process automation and data-driven decision-making across the finance org and beyond.
Requirements
- Proven senior finance leadership experience, ideally within startup and high-growth environments
- Demonstrates success in scaling organizations through periods of rapid growth
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory, cash conversion cycle, and working capital management in consumer/apparel
- Proven ability to lead fundraising and/or debt financing, manage investor/lender relationships, and support board governance
- Experience implementing and scaling ERP/finance systems, BI reporting, and controls to support multi-channel growth
- Strong understanding of pricing architecture, promotional strategy, and SKU productivity with a focus on sustainable margins
- Ability to build a Finance org and operating cadence that scales from lean startup execution to $200M+ complexity
- Experience managing audits, tax filings, and compliance activities
- Strategic mindset with the ability to roll up your sleeves in a hands-on, high-growth environment
- Brings a leadership approach rooted in teamwork, open communication, and well-reasoned decision-making
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- CPA or CFA designation
