Design and implement new features within UE5 or evolve pre-existing engine features in collaboration with artists, designers, and engineers to meet project requirements.
Optimize Unreal Engine 5 performance and functionality across multiple hardware platforms.
Act as a primary point-of-contact to the larger development team on all issues engine-related, providing guidance to designers, artists, and gameplay engineers on how to optimally leverage engine functionality to maximize engine performance and minimize application memory consumption.
Work with project leadership to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements for engine-based workflows.

Requirements

Extensive experience as an Engine Engineer using Unreal Engine 5, experience shipping or launching a UE5 game strongly preferred.
Writing fluent C++ code with a sophisticated knowledge of both historical patterns and modern language features.
Understanding of data structures and algorithms and their appropriate use cases.
Experience with multithreading, performance analysis, and code optimization.
Experience shipping games on multiple platforms.
Experience as an engine programmer working with AAA third-party game engines.
Shipped at least one AAA game in a similar role.
Previous experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers (extra points).
Familiarity with C# (extra points).
A degree in computer science or a related field (extra points).
Strong documentation philosophies to capture and evangelize best practices (extra points).
