About the role

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate all activities of the Union Payroll Team supporting BVCI Craft to ensure the successful processing of weekly union employees
  • Process craft personnel transactions, including transfers, promotions, pay rate changes, leaves of absence, terminations, and status changes
  • Coordinate weekly craft payroll with home office payroll staff
  • Supervise all field accounts payable (AP) duties including entry of purchase orders and matching invoices
  • Ensure the Union Payroll Team is knowledgeable in union pay and timekeeping system
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all payroll processes
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour and tax regulations
  • Assist in project site mobilization and office setup
  • Track man hours and assign corresponding cost codes to craft timesheets

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience leading Payroll and related processes for a large volume of employees in a complex and rapidly changing multi-state, multi-entity organization
  • Experience managing Payroll for employees covered by the CPA (Construction Project agreement) and collective bargaining agreements
  • Ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements for pay and paid time off rules
  • Strong working knowledge of FLSA, federal, state, local wage and hour, and tax regulations
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel (V-Lookup and Pivot Tables)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Some supervisory experience preferred
