About the role
- Lead design and construction activities
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for primarily HyperScale and Colocation Data Center design associated with administrative and support spaces
- Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage
- Lead Data Center airflow CFD modeling studies for interior and exterior spaces
- Conduct energy audit/efficiency studies, code review/application, and sustainable design/LEED application of sustainable strategies
- Develop engineering skills while working on challenging projects
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program
- Minimum of 11 years related work experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Previous experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design
- Experience with construction support
- Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and colocation data centers
- Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
- Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
- Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations
- Computer generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
- HVAC system energy modeling and energy code
- Green building initiatives such as LEED
- Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
- International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
- NFPA Standards
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously
- Cadence Reality Data Center Design (Formerly 6Sigma Room)
