About the role
- supports engineering teams under general supervision
- performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling)
- creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
- begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians
- stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures
- apply knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables
- demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- use and expand applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures
- create and develop project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
- perform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
- coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences
- support internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers
- proactively seek out, share, and apply knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes
Requirements
- typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience
- diploma or certificate preferred
- associate degree in drafting or an engineering design related technology preferred
- basic Civil3D experience is required with the use of pipe/pressure networks, proposed grading surfaces and plan and profile development
- all applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
