About the role
- Under close supervision, performs routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
- Applies knowledge of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments
- Contributes to the preparation of engineering deliverables such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), reports, engineering specifications and technical studies and evaluations
- Requires routine research and analysis to develop recommendations for instrumentation and equipment selection
- Understands and adheres to scope, schedule, and budget as well as the quality requirements under the Black & Veatch quality program
- Focuses on the needs of internal clients (Project Team and Leadership) while gaining a better understanding of external client’s needs and drivers
- Coordinates with the project team by sharing information and design decisions
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must have less than 2 years of professional engineering or construction experience (internships do not count toward years of experience)
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
- Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
- Basic knowledge of company quality program
- Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles
