About the role

  • Under close supervision, performs routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments
  • Contributes to the preparation of engineering deliverables such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), reports, engineering specifications and technical studies and evaluations
  • Requires routine research and analysis to develop recommendations for instrumentation and equipment selection
  • Understands and adheres to scope, schedule, and budget as well as the quality requirements under the Black & Veatch quality program
  • Focuses on the needs of internal clients (Project Team and Leadership) while gaining a better understanding of external client’s needs and drivers
  • Coordinates with the project team by sharing information and design decisions

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have less than 2 years of professional engineering or construction experience (internships do not count toward years of experience)
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
  • Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
  • Basic knowledge of company quality program
  • Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles
