About the role
- Manages career preparation, career exploration, personal and career counseling, and career transition readiness.
- Supervises all employment activities, including recruitment, testing, reference checking, and related employment matters.
- Develops referral sources through agency and community outreach and promotes job development through direct contact with employers.
- Monitors the delivery of personal and career counseling and audits counseling case notes quarterly.
- Promotes teamwork between students and staff and interdepartmental teamwork among staff.
- Holds regular staff meetings and attends OMS and MPO weekly meetings to assist in center performance.
Requirements
- Five years in Job Corps Management preferred, other managerial experience considered; five years experience working with adolescents/young adults.
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work is required.
- Master’s degree preferred; any waiver of the requirement must be reviewed and approved by the DOL Regional Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency are also required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
