About the role
- Grow revenue for Biolog products across the West Coast
- Engage prospects via email, phone, and LinkedIn; qualify and nurture leads
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and collaborate to close deals
- Maintain and grow product usage by conducting technical presentations and by providing product support and seminars
- Conduct product demonstrations for prospective customers and present acquired data on short timelines
- Relay product feedback to marketing to inform new product development
- Represent Biolog at regional events and industry conferences
- Partner with Marketing on campaigns and service launches
- Maintain CRM accuracy (Salesforce) and report on activity
- Work cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and project teams to ensure flawless customer onboarding and satisfaction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in life science or related field; MS degree in microbiology is highly preferred.
- Extensive microbiology knowledge and experience including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi
- 2-5 years of successful technical sales experience selling, conducting presentations and product demonstrations in the life science sales industry OR highly motivated Field Applications Scientist with 2-5 years of experience who is ready to step into a sales position
- Experience selling in complex purchasing environments with multiple decision makers
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized, self-driven, and comfortable working independently
- CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
- Willing to travel up to 40% to engage customers and support regional growth
