About the role
- Engage with customers and other stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.
- Support next generation R&S, Data Center, and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
- Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results.
- Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
- Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
- Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Customer Facing experience (ability to interface and interact with customers successfully).
- Previous experience in complex network troubleshooting or TAC-style experience.
- 3 - 8 years of experience with Nexus platforms (focus on n9k)
- Very good understanding and experience on L2 switching, L3 routing and routing protocols (specifically OSPF, ISIS and BGP).
- Understanding and experience with network and server virtualization. Experience with docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Basic Programming/Scripting Skill (preferably Python)
- Basic working knowledge in yang models, configuration management, APIs and operational models.
- Strong Written and Verbal skills.
- Some degree of programming/Scripting, orchestration and automation skills (preferably Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Good understanding of data models, various data formats such as YAML, JSON and XML and of APIs.
- Knowledge of designing DC solutions such as ACI, EVPN VXLAN, traditional tiered data center networks.
- Preferred exposure to Cisco Nexus products such as n2k/n3k/n5k/n6k/n7k/n9k with more emphasis on n9k in NXOS and/or ACI mode.
- Understanding of Data Center Architectures, Software Defined Networking (SDN) & appliance/service integrations.
- Knowledge and experience with F5 load balancing, VMware, Redhat OCP, other virtualization hypervisors, UCS and general compute is a plus.
- Preferably a CCNA or CCNP level certification.
- Proficient with Industry Test Tools; Spirent or Ixia preferred
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation)
- Ability and experience debugging and troubleshooting complex network problems.
