About the role
- Lead regulatory approval, authorization, and licensing efforts across LATAM jurisdictions, including detailed legal analysis and application management.
- Develop and implement Binance’s strategic regulatory approach tailored to the LATAM market.
- Partner closely with business teams to support the launch and growth of new products and services in LATAM, balancing commercial goals with regulatory compliance.
- Establish and maintain strong, effective relationships with LATAM regulators and government authorities.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory developments and trends in the LATAM cryptocurrency and financial sectors.
- Provide clear, practical legal advice to navigate complex LATAM regulatory environments.
- Take a proactive, hands-on role in shaping Binance’s regulatory strategy and decision-making in the region.
Requirements
- Qualified to practise law in one or more LATAM jurisdictions.
- Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience, with significant exposure to financial institutions and regulatory matters in LATAM.
- Experience from a reputable law firm combined with relevant in-house legal experience in the LATAM region.
- Strong knowledge of financial products including spot trading, margin trading, futures, options, and payments (FIAT channels, PSPs, wallets, etc.) relevant to LATAM markets.
- Demonstrated active interest and understanding of the cryptocurrency industry and its regulatory landscape in LATAM.
- Proven experience managing financial product lifecycles from initiation to launch within LATAM is highly desirable.
- Excellent team collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across diverse teams.
- Ability to provide actionable legal guidance in complex and evolving regulatory environments.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong leadership mindset to influence strategic decisions.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, along with proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese, to effectively engage with both local and international stakeholders.
