• Support the dynamic needs of the division by developing and implementing special projects in support of divisional priorities.
• These projects will be dynamic and assigned by the Deputy Director.
• Supporting the tactical planning and implementation of external advocacy activities by the GPA president and other foundation leadership.
• Serve as a strategic partner and operational support to the Deputy Director, providing additional capacity to manage and execute across all Engagement team priorities.
• Step in as needed to represent the Deputy and ensure continuity of leadership and execution.
• Collaborate closely with the Deputy Director and the broader Engagement team to drive alignment, execution, and accountability across diverse portfolios, helping to translate strategy into action.
• Leverage a strong background in communications to enhance the team's capabilities in proactive storytelling, stakeholder messaging, and strategic narrative development.
• Identify and pursue additional opportunities to elevate the division president’s voice across key external platforms.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to shape and implement forward-looking communication strategies that support the foundation’s engagement goals, ensuring high-quality, consistent messaging.
• Contribute to the development and execution of a robust political risk framework by monitoring key geopolitical dynamics, assessing emerging risks, and supporting scenario planning to inform engagement strategies.
• Additional support for internal priorities as needed.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

Senior Officer, Leadership Engagement and Communication

People Operations

• Help ensure that the division operates as a strategically aligned, high-performing, and well-coordinated function
• Partner closely with the DSPM/CoS and the People Leadership Team (PLT) to drive strategy planning, portfolio management, operational excellence, and rhythm of business activities
• Enable strategic communications, progress reporting, and supporting engagements with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
• Lead a team of professionals who support planning, strategy execution, portfolio management, operational enablement, and communications and change management
• Ensure that People Team priorities are clear, visible, well understood and communicated; fostering collaboration, alignment, and impact
• Manage the People Team’s Rhythm of Business (RoB), ensuring effective preparation, follow-through, and accountability for leadership meetings and enterprise deliverables
• Drive process and systems improvements that enhance efficiency, clarity, and collaboration across the division
• Oversee operational systems related to budgeting, headcount, and portfolio tracking
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, Business Operations, Foundation Strategy Office and other functional partners to ensure smooth execution of planning and reporting cycles.
• Support the design and implementation of change management and process simplification initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee knowledge management and internal communications systems to support transparency, coordination, and information sharing across the OCPO and the People team

Deputy Director, Strategy, Planning & Management

Director

• Lead overall drug/device development within WHI, including strategy development, operational execution aligned with strategy, and accountability for outcomes and impact measures.
• Emphasis will be on end-to-end drug and drug–device product development rigor and decision-making.
• Lead and manage the drug/device development team, and the execution of a growing and complex portfolio of investments focused on contraceptive technologies, STI therapeutics, and emerging areas of therapeutic development work in heavy menstrual bleeding.
• Make strategic, data driven decisions, and be comfortable in settings where incomplete information is available.
• Manage direct reports and provide matrix leadership to partners within the foundation.
• Provide oversight for WHI funded activities that are implemented by matrix partners within the foundation including Discovery Drugs, Integrated (Drug) Development (IDEV), Regulatory, regional country offices, and aspects of new product launch planning.
• Ensure alignment with industry-standard product development, CMC, and phase-gate practices.
• Design new strategies, collaborations, and implementation plans to ensure impact and sustainability, with a view towards nearer term and longer-term outcomes.
• Manage and implement a program that aligns with foundation strategy and is operationally integrated within the WHI program strategy team (PST) and other foundation programs.
• Own decision making for all grant approvals within delegation of authority (DOA) and critical review and recommendation of grants that require Director and above DOA.
• Responsible for reviewing concept notes and grant proposals and collaborating with colleagues to provide clear, concise, and insightful written analyses and recommendations for funding for pre-clinical and clinical development for contraception portfolio.
• Consult with grantees and other partners to maximize impact of projects by ensuring grants align with and drive toward meeting strategy goals for contraception portfolio and potential synergies across WHI’s broader portfolio.
• Represent the foundation with key program-related external constituencies, as appropriate, on committees related to area of expertise and responsibilities of the position including being a spokesperson at public facing events and management of key high profile partner relationships
• Responsible for the hiring and managing the talent needed to achieve the team’s and foundation’s goals.
• Actively contribute to the WHI Leadership team, including WHI wide strategy, with a collective focus on WHI’s goals and objectives.
• Contribute and collaborate across the WHI team to achieve PST wide goals.
• Contribute to WHI team culture and initiatives.
• Foster enabling conditions for talent to thrive and be accountable for inclusive team culture.
• Model and coach equitable decision-making, inclusive behaviors, and actions; address escalated issues in a timely fashion.
