About the role

  • Lead and support a team delivering on-site operational technology services and physical hardware support.
  • Ensure effective and timely responses to service requests, incidents, and problems, managing the Technology service catalogue.
  • Coordinate and prioritise incident response for IT/OT-related systems to minimise disruption to operations.
  • Lead end-to-end lifecycle management of physical technology hardware across site operations.
  • Build, deploy, patch, and troubleshoot end-user devices while overseeing low-level asset and inventory management.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that govern operational performance, reliability, and optimisation of managed services.
  • Monitor and maintain safety systems, advising on system safety issues and implementing safety lifecycle management strategies.
  • Identify and manage operational and technology risks using BHP’s Risk Management Framework.
  • Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders, including operational leaders and technology partners.
  • Coach, develop, and support team members to build capability, trust, and a high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Experience working in an operational environment as an IT/OT technician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management, incident, problem, and change management practices.
  • Experience with SAP Work Management and ServiceNow (SNoW) processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a safety-critical environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence up to Superintendent and Manager level.
  • Solid understanding of safety and workplace management, with a commitment to achieving safe and productive outcomes.
  • Required: IT Service Management Framework certification (ITIL Foundation).
  • Recommended: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, or a relevant trade equivalent.
