About the role
- Manages the practice operations with a commitment to providing the highest quality of service to patients
- Ensures that all patient care & administrative functions are completed in a compliant, efficient, and timely fashion
- Improves and maintains patient access
- Partners with the Group Practice Director, to establish, implement, and monitor office policies and protocols
- Participates in the planning and implementation of practice goals and objectives
- Develops and enhances workflow mechanisms to increase office efficiency
- Responsible for performance management of assigned staff
- Conducts evaluations, collaborates with Human Resources and Group Practice Directors to address performance gaps
- Responsible for cultivating a work environment marked by collaboration, teamwork, respect, and professional development
- Identifies training needs for assigned staff and assists with training to ensure staff proficiency
- May partner with hospital clinical and administrative leadership on rotations of residents and/or fellows through practices
- Responsible for screening and selecting potential candidates for open positions
- Manages all processes related to hiring, training, orientation, and onboarding of both temporary and regular staff
- Has full responsibility for planning and monitoring budget matters
- Addresses patient concerns, complaints, or billing issues in an effective manner
- Supports and contributes to marketing strategies for the practice as it relates to new patient business
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Three to five years experience in a physician’s office, working as a medical secretary/clinical assistant
- Some management experience is helpful
- Knowledge of medical billing
- Knowledge of terminology
- Positive and engaging interpersonal skills
