About the role
- Build and Evolve On-Prem Platform Capabilities
- Architect and operate OpenStack-based private cloud environments;
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Ansible and automation frameworks;
- Maintain and enhance core services: DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, Bastions, VPNs, Load Balancers;
- Administer IPAM platforms like Infoblox, ensuring scalable and secure network management.
- Drive Observability and Operational Excellence
- Integrate observability platforms (e.g., Splunk) for telemetry, alerting, and incident response;
- Define and promote best practices for monitoring, logging, and root cause analysis;
- Build guardrails into infrastructure workflows to ensure reliability and compliance by default.
- Enable Developer Experience and Platform Adoption
- Partner with application and network teams to abstract complexity and deliver reusable infrastructure patterns;
- Create automation templates, runbooks, and architectural blueprints that accelerate delivery;
- Lead workshops, expert roundtables, and deep-dives to align teams and foster shared ownership.
- Lead and Influence Platform Strategy
- Contribute to long-term platform roadmap and architectural decisions;
- Represent platform engineering in cross-functional leadership forums;
- Mentor engineers and cultivate a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Proven experience with OpenStack architecture and operations
- Strong proficiency in Ansible, Python, Bash, and Linux systems
- Hands-on expertise with DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, Bastion hosts, and VPNs
- Familiarity with Infoblox or similar enterprise-grade IPAM/DNS platforms
- Experience with observability tools (Splunk preferred) and incident response practices
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and ITIL/change management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
