About the role
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share for the Basic Coatings business
- Oversee sales, marketing, and operational execution; ensure strategy aligns with marketplace opportunities
- Lead cross-functional teams and manage key customer relationships
- Develop innovative go-to-market strategies across hardwood distribution channels, gym floor contractors, and new business verticals
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales projections for all Basic Coatings product lines
- Oversee CRM utilization, pipeline management, competitive activity tracking, and customer insights
- Collaborate with operations, product management, and customer service to optimize performance and service delivery
- Drive new product penetration and ensure successful program launches into existing and new markets
- Prospect, qualify, and secure new distributor and end-user accounts
- Establish and maintain relationships with distributors, contractors, and industry influencers to build brand presence
- Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent; provide coaching, training, and career development
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and integrity across teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in sales, marketing, or general management
- Experience in building materials, coatings, or floor care industries (preferably)
- Proven success managing multi-channel sales strategies, including distributor, contractor, and end-user relationships
- Strong knowledge of sales channels, distribution dynamics, and hardwood flooring industry trends
- Familiarity selling building material products through distribution (critical)
- Mechanical/technical aptitude and strong selling skills
- Flooring business experience
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn CRM software
- Willingness/ability to travel up to 75%
