About the role
- Responsible for all raw materials and finished goods at the manufacturing location
- Ordering of materials, distribution of manufactured products, flow of materials through the warehouses, coordinating inbound and outbound delivery schedules, and inventory accuracy
- Evaluate processes to identify areas of improvement to employee safety, quality of product, and operational cost efficiencies
- Interface daily with the operations teams to identify/resolve problems, implement solutions, and coordinate schedules
- Conduct studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization within the facility
- Supervise and provide assistance to department leads daily to support warehouse and production activities
- Manage team of 5-15 personnel responsible for forklift operations, scheduling inbound and outbound trucks, cycle counting activities, and ordering of materials to support production activities
- Regularly audit work of team to ensure it meets expectations for safety, quality, and productivity
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment and/or in the paint and coatings industry
- Experience in materials management, scheduling and coordinating incoming and outgoing goods, warehouse management for shipping/receiving, and managing all warehouse inventories for multi-buildings a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with both salaried and hourly personnel
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Ability to work with and continually develop vendors/contractors
