About the role

  • Respond to inbound inquiries and proactively reach out to prospective customers via phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Maintain deep knowledge of machine control systems, construction tools, and related equipment to effectively support customer needs
  • Lead customers through the entire sales cycle—from initial contact to closing—ensuring a positive and efficient experience
  • Process orders accurately and coordinate with operations to ensure timely delivery
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships to drive new and repeat business
  • Execute weekly route planning and manage assigned territory to maximize sales opportunities
  • Demonstrate products, explain features, and highlight value propositions to prospective customers
  • Work closely with Service & Support and Customer Service to share information and support a unified customer experience
  • Address and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Track pipeline activity, customer feedback, and market trends to support forecasting and strategy
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor products, and pricing to stay informed and competitive
  • Stay current on industry trends, new product developments, and competitive offerings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven outside sales or customer relationship management experience
  • Territory management and formal sales training experience required
  • Experience in heavy equipment, compact equipment, or related industry strongly preferred
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • High energy, self-motivated, and driven to succeed
  • Basic knowledge of equipment financing and accounting is a plus.
