About the role

  • As the Vice President of Chain & Key Accounts, you will be responsible for leading retail expansion and driving revenue growth across convenience store chains, liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club channels.
  • You will develop and execute a national sales strategy, build long-term key account relationships, and lead a high-performing sales team to maximize market penetration, sales velocity, and brand execution.
  • Lead expansion into national and regional chain accounts across convenience (c-store), liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club channels.
  • Develop and execute a scalable sales strategy to increase store penetration, expand product distribution, and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional programs to drive category leadership and long-term growth.
  • Manage and grow existing chain relationships, ensuring best-in-class execution, revenue performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key accounts, identifying growth opportunities and securing commitments for expanded distribution.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing national sales team, including key account managers and regional sales leaders.
  • Set clear KPIs and performance benchmarks, ensuring that sales teams consistently deliver against revenue and execution targets.
  • Utilize category management expertise to provide sell-through analysis, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to retailers.
  • Monitor industry trends, pricing strategies, and emerging category innovations to inform go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to develop and deploy impactful shopper engagement programs.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of sales leadership experience in the CPG industry, focusing on chain accounts and retail expansion.
  • Proven track record of winning and managing major retail chains in convenience, liquor, grocery, mass, drug, and club channels.
  • Experience leading and scaling a high-performance sales team in a multi-channel retail environment.
  • Expertise in trade marketing, category management, and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Strong negotiation skills – ability to secure multi-year trade agreements, category placements, and promotional commitments.
  • Proficiency in sales analytics, CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce), and POS data analysis to drive strategy and execution.
  • Experience working in regulated CPG categories such as dietary supplements, functional beverages, or natural products (preferred).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset – thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with a test-and-learn approach.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, balancing big-picture vision with hands-on execution.
