About the role

Design and deliver core services behind Global-e's global logistics platform, including fulfillment, labels, tracking, and order management workflows.
Drive innovation within an API-first microservice architecture built on Scala, Kubernetes, and AWS; design and implement resilient distributed systems handling millions of transactions.
Lead the design, development, and deployment of new logistics capabilities; define, communicate, and guide architectural decisions to ensure scalability and reliability.
Champion clean code, best practices, robust testing frameworks, and verification approaches to meet critical metrics and SLAs.
Propose and implement features, tooling, and infrastructure to support growth and operational efficiency; employ CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and efficient release processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, and stakeholders; mentor and share knowledge across engineering teams.
Report to the Engineering Manager and contribute high-quality Scala code.

7+ Years of Experience: A proven track record building large-scale, customer-facing applications in a fast-paced environment (e-commerce, fintech, tech startups a plus).
Distributed Systems Expertise: Familiarity with designing, deploying, and operating resilient, fault-tolerant systems that handle high traffic.
Engineering Practices Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and rapid release cycles.
Strong Database Skills: Ability to optimize and scale applications involving complex data interactions.
Experience writing production-quality code; willingness to write Scala (no prior Scala experience required).
Experience with API-first microservice architectures, Kubernetes, and AWS.
