About the role

  • Sells advertising and non-dues products or services to BBB Accredited Businesses in an assigned area or territory
  • Creates new accounts and maintains existing accounts
  • Contacts new and existing customers to explain the features and merits of products or services
  • Demonstrates value proposition of products or services and utilizes persuasive sales techniques
  • Assists clients in determining best application of products or services
  • Meets minimum standards for business development activities (set number of calls, talk time per day, sales, retention)
  • Builds relationships and maintains constant communication with Accredited Businesses after finalizing sales
  • Collaborates with support departments and staff members on company-wide processes and goals
  • Performs additional duties as requested by BBB senior leadership and attends staff-related events as needed
  • Follows up and provides closure to all requests and offers add-ons for additional locations/affiliate companies where appropriate
  • Meets and exceeds monthly sales goals and department metric goals
  • Reports to Advertising Sales Manager

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of proven sales experience
  • Demonstrated Outbound Call Center or Telephone Sales experience
  • Experience in digital advertising sales
  • Working knowledge of SEO
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic computer skills to learn a CRM system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Clean criminal background
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Willingness to adhere to BBB Standards of Trust and Core Values
  • Satisfactory attendance, promptness, time management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet daily business development activity standards (calls, talk time, sales, retention)
  • Authorized to work in the United States (BBB participates in E-Verify)
