About the role

  • Sells advertising and non-dues products or services to BBB Accredited Businesses in an assigned area or territory; meets and exceeds established sales goals and retention targets.
  • Create new accounts and maintain existing accounts to ensure long-term satisfaction and engagement; build and maintain relationships and ensure constant communication throughout the year.
  • Contact new and existing customers or clients to explain the features and merits of products or services; utilize persuasive sales techniques, and assist in determining the best application of BBB products or services.
  • Achieve minimum standards for business development activities, including a set number of required call volume, daily talk time, and other sales performance metrics.
  • Work professionally and courteously with support departments and staff to align with company-wide processes and goals; foster a positive teamwork environment and serve as an advocate for collaborative success.
  • Perform assigned tasks and special projects; attend staff events; contribute to BBB's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
  • Adhere to BBB Standards of Trust and Core Values; demonstrate Respect and honor all people, positions, and BBB organizational processes.
  • Maintain punctuality, time management, and attention to detail; follow up on requests to ensure closure.
  • Provide world-class customer service internally and externally; follow up and provide closure to all requests; actively participate as a team player.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales and department metric goals; promote and offer existing AB add-ons for additional locations and/or affiliates when appropriate.
  • Resolve issues independently and propose solutions when escalation is needed; seek coaching and professional development opportunities; identify ways to improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office administrative procedures and ability to operate and troubleshoot most standard office equipment
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have basic computer skills to learn a CRM system
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal (in person and via phone) and written
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive information and documents, and maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) a plus
  • Clean criminal background
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Minimum one year of proven sales experience
  • Demonstrated Outbound Call Center or Telephone Sales experience
  • Working knowledge of SEO
  • Experience in digital advertising sales
