About the role

  • Lead and manage BASF’s Hydromet and Flotation product portfolio across Sub Saharan Africa, driving strategic growth, supporting technical implementation, and ensuring strong customer engagement across targeted mining operations
  • Build and maintain long-term, high value relationships with key stakeholders in customer organizations, ensuring BASF leadership is connected to active stakeholders within the customer structures
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their operational needs, expectations, and business goals, aligning BASF Mining Solutions to deliver tailored value
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities within existing accounts by leveraging BASF’s established Mining Solutions footprint
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, mapping customer structures and decision making processes to drive customer satisfaction and business expansion
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales, Technical teams, and broader business support functions across regions where customers operate
  • Provide insights into market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies
  • Track and evaluate account performance, ensuring delivery on customer commitments and alignment with business objectives
  • Prepare and present regular reports on account status, customer engagements, opportunities, risks, and key developments

Requirements

  • University degree required—preferably in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Chemical/Mining Engineering or relevant business studies
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in the mineral processing industry, including commercial or business development experience at multiple sites/operations
  • Proficiency in PMM, Salesforce, and MS Office
  • Strong commercial skills and experience in selling Mining Solutions, particularly in solvent extraction and flotation
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and networking skills
  • Self-driven with a customer-focus mindset.
