About the role
- Develop and maintain an effective preconstruction program to produce conceptual and preliminary budgets and schedules
- Establish and maintain a list of prequalified vendors and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain master bid documents and scopes of work
- Participate in procurement of major project scopes of work and equipment
- Participate in developing initial project estimates (including conceptual estimates) and schedules in consultation with the responsible Partner or Director
- Develop a preliminary project schedule
- Participate in developing and/or review project bid list
- Participate in developing and/or review subcontractor scopes of work
- Update project estimate based on review of 30/60/90 percent drawings
- Advise project manager of procurement activities
- Monitor actual verses budgeted cost for major procurement items
- Conduct annual performance evaluation of direct reports
- Provide periodic reports on workload and department accomplishments
Requirements
- 10 years of General Contractor or Electrical Contractor related construction and preconstruction experience
- Experience with manufacturing or industrial sector construction (Advanced Technology, Semi-Conductor, Controls Systems)
- Experience negotiating contract buyout and putting bids together for final presentation
- Experience in estimating and buyout for Electrical/Low Voltage installation subcontracts for Capex projects in Industrial/commercial markets
- Existing network (regional or national) of trade contractor relationships, specifically in electrical trade
- Experience with BMS and EPMS as well as other system integration systems
- An understanding of prime contracts requirements including schedules, scopes, budgets, and performance expectations
- Construction estimating, scheduling and procurement experience
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project/P6, Timberline, AutoCAD, or Revit software systems
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, or a related technical degree (preferred)
- OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification (preferred)
- Experience working in Data Center environments would be a plus
