About the role
- Leading system wide contracting of supplies, equipment, material, services and maintenance
- Extensive procurement, contracting, and purchasing functions
- Driving significant savings or cost avoidance
- Providing high quality, efficient, and cost-effective service
- Achieving standards of performance, portfolio management and collaboration with leadership and system departments
- Focused on continuous process improvement, benchmarking, performance measurement, and reporting
- Assisting in the identification and review of new and alternative product selections
- Sourcing products within the vendor community
- Monitoring vendor performance and building business relationships
- Negotiating contracts, including GPO, IDN and hospital specific contracts within their service line
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Prefer a clinical background like nursing
- Advanced certification in supply chain or healthcare administration preferred
- 3+ years experience related experience in contracting, supply chain, or healthcare administration
- Market knowledge of key medical/surgical supplies and services preferred
- Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, negotiating, contracting, business law, cost containment, and expense management activities preferred
