- Performs full range of complex professional coding
- Analyzes medical information from medical records
- Accurately codes diagnostic and procedural information
- Consults with medical providers to clarify record information
- Provides thorough, timely and accurate coding
- Abstracts clinical diagnoses and procedure codes
- Provides quality assurance for medical records
- Compiles daily and monthly reports
- Provides mentoring for less experienced staff members
Requirements
- 5+ years of Cardiology Complex Coding experience
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in active status
- Recent/consistent coding work history of 3 years or more
- Must be currently certified through AAPC or Ahima
- Specialty Cardiology coding experience preferred
